Delivering a Platform For Success

Pragmatic Solutions / 21st Nov 2019

1. What are the core features of your platform, and why did you choose to develop in this way?

While others simply divide their attention and resources towards offering multiple products, Pragmatic Solutions invests all energy in its core product – the platforms. Developing in this way gives operators and customers the stability they need, without putting them in difficulty by setting conditions or limitations.

Pragmatic is part of the next generation of platforms, which give operators more control and the ability to own the platform, by offering complete flexibility through an API-based system. We have more than 250+ APIs available at the moment. Any of this would be impossible without following the most recent advancements in the industry, and this is the reason why Pragmatic uses modular, new technology for all-scale operators. The core features of this platform are speed, flexibility and scalability, suiting a wide range of needs coming from operators and adapt to the specific conditions they raise.

2. What is the material impact that platforms can have on business performance for operators – or indeed if they are using an ill-suited platform, what is the cost?

Currently, operators face several pain points related to platforms that keep them away from achieving their business goals and lead to financial loss.

  • Limited UI/UX control
  • Impossibility to keep up with requirements and changes in the industry
  • Home-built platforms
  • Slow delivery and technical issues
  • Business limitations and restrictions
  • Limited scalability and stability
  • Non-aligned interest and data risk

Choosing an unsuitable platform undoubtedly leads to profit loss because both time and money are wasted in the process. A platform provider that cannot ensure a fast delivery in terms of integration or migration will lead to delays. Downtime is quite a problem for operators because the longer their products are unavailable, the more money they lose. With Pragmatic Solutions, integration happens in around three weeks, as most resources are directed to this process. Additionally, all products are integrated into one single wallet, making everything much simpler.

Besides the financial impact, operators can lose the interest of players, who shift their preferences based on the latest technological advancements. This is also the reason why non-flexible platforms that cannot adapt to what players or operators expect in the modern context are ill-suited. Lack of flexibility leads to poor business performance for operators because they cannot expand when it is required. Modular, API-based platforms that can increase in scope in the long run are a good catch, while legacy platforms started to lose ground. Making a choice regarding what platform to use should be closely related to what the operator requires and what plans it has for the future.

3. With so many different platforms available, how do you choose the right one?

In a world where everything happens at a very fast pace, choosing the platform that is the easiest and fastest to integrate is always a good choice. Of course, this is not the only criterion to follow. Time is precious, but so is progress. Operators can grow quite quickly, and without the possibility to scale their business and expand, they will be forced to switch platforms. In this sense, API- and modular-based platforms are a wise option because they are flexible and allow for expansion, regardless of how big the operator gets. A platform that imposes no restrictions and lets the operator choose the services and products to be enabled and integrated offers more benefits at length.

The provider-operator-player relationship highly influences the choice regarding the platform. Players demand products that are leading-edge and operators cannot supply them with top-notch products unless they use the services of advanced platforms. A legacy platform that uses outdated technology might not be able to provide operators with the services they need, thus leaving players unsatisfied with the products and compelling the operator to migrate. Choosing the right platform from the very beginning ensures the proper development of the operator and player satisfaction, and the first condition to respect in this process is to pick forward-looking platforms that use cutting-edge technology.

Another criterion that operators should take into account when choosing an iGaming platform is compliance. Without access to a multitude of markets, operators reduce their chance of becoming successful. A platform that keeps regulation off the operator’s plate is much more convenient to use. For instance, Pragmatic Solutions operates with clients licensed in Malta and Curacao with the UK and Sweden soon to follow, giving operators a wide range of markets to reach. Our platform is also backed up by the GLI-19 certification and PCI DSS.

4. Will Pragmatic Solutions be shifting their core focuses for platforms in the coming year, or do you envision you’ll continue focusing on current development areas?

Because tech changes with such celerity, it would be nearly impossible to focus on the very same development areas, as other requirements are constantly brought forward. For instance, we have Artificial Intelligence and cryptocurrency growing as trends fairly quick and implementing these technologies might represent a priority in a year from now on. Even so, Pragmatic’s approach will remain the same.

We avoid interfering with the operator’s goals and preferences while improving our platform on every occasion and delivering flexible, state-of-the-art technology. Our platform is an integration-focused one, which means that the process should be completed as smoothly as possible while offering operators full control over the look and feel of their brand. At Pragmatic Solutions, the main development area followed is keeping the platform up-to-the-minute, conformable to the trends and fluctuations in the industry.
