Job Requirements
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a security management or strategy development role.
Technical Skills
Security Strategy Development: Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies and protocols.
Risk Assessment: Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and experience in conducting regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
Security Operations Management: Hands-on experience in managing day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, incident response, and resolution.
Incident Response: Expertise in developing and maintaining incident response plans and leading incident response efforts.
Compliance: Familiarity with relevant security standards, regulations, and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of various security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption, and vulnerability assessment tools.
Documentation: Ability to develop, write, and enforce security documentation and procedures.
Responsibilities
Security Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and protocols to safeguard the organisation's IT infrastructure, information, and data assets.
Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and identify potential security vulnerabilities. Develop mitigation plans to address identified risks.
Security Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, incident response, and resolution. Ensure adherence to security policies and procedures across the organization.
Coordination with Tech Team: Collaborate with the technical team to identify and address security vulnerabilities in software and systems. Provide guidance and support to mitigate security risks.
Third-Party Coordination: Coordinate and manage activities with third-party information security and cyber security firms for vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and other security evaluations. Ensure timely and effective execution of security assessments.
Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans. Lead incident response efforts in the event of a security breach or incident. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to contain and remediate security incidents.
Security Documentation and Procedures: Develop / Write and enforce security documents and procedures
Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure that the organisation maintains compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
Security Incident Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies. Continuously evaluate and enhance security processes and controls to adapt to evolving threats.
